How To Style Basic White Cable Knit - From Casual Wear To Work Wear

If there is one piece of fall/winter wardrobe I reach out for again and again, its a white crew neck cable knit sweater . Its like the blank canvas - imagine the look and start painting! Its the humble potato - comfortable, versatile and foolproof! (I crave fries now!) And don't think the cable knit is only for the lazy days. The white crew neck sweater can be taken from casual comfort to corner office meetings in an instant. Here are the 4 ways I would style a basic crew neck cable knit.

1. Country Lane Strolling or Chic City Walks
Pair with a blue skinny jeans and a comfy yet stylish riding boots. Brown or Cognac is my favorite color for riding boots. A classic Burberry plaid scarf (or similar) or a patterned pashmina completes the look.

2. Take it to work
Pair the white cable knit with a basic black skirt. Pleats or button details and subtle jewelry will compensate for the casualness of the sweater. Finish the look with either ankle boots, classic flats or pumps.

3. Lunch with Friends
To make the sweater-denim look little more polished, opt for a dark wash flair bottom or boot cut jeans. Add the element of interest with animal print or colorful shoes.

4. 2 O'Clock Meeting
For work, use the sweater with brown wool (or herringbone/textured) pants or a luxurious leather skirt. Add the element of interest with a sleeveless cardigan or  faux fur vest. The classic brown pump finish the look.
