First day of New York Fashion Week was cold, cold and so much fun! Although I had to rush back home for personal reasons ( an old shoulder ache came back with the vengeance! Uggh!!) and miss Tadashi Shoji show, which is usually one of the 'prettiest' shows at Lincoln Center! I loved BCBG Max Azria Fall 2014 collection - it was quintessential BCBG Max Azria. The silky pants with knee length tunics, flowy dresses and structured skirts are paired with boxy jackets and furs, LOTS of fur. Textured and patterns are layered cunningly and traditional fabrics like silks, wool knits and furs are offset by technical crepes and quilted jacquards. The pieces for the most part were solid colored but there were some striking color block and hand beaded details too. The vintage era hand muffs in soft furs were surely one of the most memorable pieces of BCBG Max Azria Fall 2014 collection. Now, the fur lovers and team PETA alike have something to talk about it!
All in all, you can translate the look by using faux furs in your fall/winter wardrobe. Luckily most retailers have faux fur in really good quality and great, affordable prices these days! It looks like the leather accents and trims that we saw in 2013 fall fashion will be here to stay this year too. Although who is looking forward to fall yet, LOL!
Another thing I love about FAshion Week, to meet my favorite bloggers whose style I really admire. At BCBG MAx Azria, I bumped into Rachel Parcell of Pink Peonies and Emily Jackson of The Ivory Lane. These two bloggers (and sisters) are one of my favorite bloggers and it was fun to meet them in person and talk about the show!
I am looking forward to Tina Turna nd Rebecca Minkoff show today! Follow my instagram for an everyday girl's perspective of Fashion Week:-)
