Style-Delights: Michael Kors White Dress - Splurge and Steal

Michael Kors White Dress - Splurge and Steal

Look what I found on the Internets! this über chic Michael Kors Cotton Blend Stretch dress! The price tag - $1695 only (snicker!). But there is something timeless about a white sheath with a little splash of black in it - and I couldn't stop thinking if this totally-out-of-my-budget dress!

And then smiled the frugal fashion gods and I spotted these two dresses high on a similar Michael Kors style and light on the wallet! {Sometimes I totally impress myself!!}
When you love a designer piece, do you splurge or try to find something similar for less? What makes you buy a designer piece- no matter what price??

  1. Love these - especially the MK one :) I always shop for the lower priced pieces(aka knock offs!)...or if I HAVE to have the name I wait till it goes on sale ;)

  3. like the dresses that you picked but somehow nothing can be compared to the beauty of the original MK one, love how the black details run down the white fabric, its so classy and refined yet not conservative

  5. Back in the day, I used to stalk the real thing at sample sales -- before eBay when you actually had to go in person! One of the nice things about living in New York. Now I'm lucky enough to be able to splurge on the real thing. I'm never really satisfied by something that's just close.

    1. Thanks Wendy! Yes, sample sales are great and in one of the benefits of living in NY. You are not only lucky but talented and hardworking enough to deserve the real thing:-)

  6. I'm a big sucker for using the real thing as inspiration, and picking up something for less. However for a timeless classic like this one, I might just save up, and pick up the MK piece.
