Bite Beauty #TheAmuseBouche Lipsticks {First Impression And Review}
Wearing Bite Beauty Amuse Bouche lipstick in the sage "Gazpacho' |
I am HUGE fan of red lipsticks. I think women with every skin tone and complexion can rock the bold red lips. I wear red lipstick all through the year and can not get enough of red lipsticks. I am always on a hunt for the perfect Red and so when I got a chance to try out the Bite Beauty's new line of lipsticks called The Amuse Bouche, I immediately took the opportunity. I received three shades - 'Gazpacho', 'Pepper' and 'Beetroot'.
Color Swatches from Left - Gazpacho, Beetroot, Pepper |
So here is my verdict-
Packaging: The lipsticks come in very sleek matte tubes that are not very conspicuous, but still look unique. Overall nice packaging, nothing special to write home about.
Smell : OMG! That was the first reaction when I opened the tube! These lipsticks smell HEAVENLY! They have fresh pressed citrus smell and the product description says these are made with 12 edible oils and fresh pressed fruits. I five it 5 stars for the way they smell!
Color: These are high pigmented lipsticks, As you can see in the swatch above, the shade is pretty saturated and evenly pigmented. I personally love the non-sheer look of dark lispticks so for me it works out really well.
Texture: These are some really creamy lipsticks. I really love the way they glide on the lips and go on evenly and without smudge on the lip line. VERY soft and supple texture and feel very light on the lips. Not sticky at all, even though they have a very light sheen in them! 5 stars again!
Longevity of wear: These lipsticks stay put for a long long time. I usually put one coat of my lipsticks and press a tissue paper between my lips for few seconds and then apply second coat. I used same technique to apply Bite Beauty Amuse Bouche lipsticks and they stayed on for a LONG time. Even after eating, drinking, and almost 7 hour wear on the weekend, when I was ready to my make up off, I could see that lipstick was still there. The shade became little lighter, but it was pretty even and smooth. I give them high points for all day wear!
Price: These are available on Sephora for $26. So I'd say they are little bit pricier than your every day drugstore lipstick brands but after using them almost 2 weeks I can say they are TOTALLY worth the price!
Overall Verdict - Two thumbs up and 5 stars! Totally recommend these lipsticks. They come in 34 shades and the three I have used so far are making me want to stock up on more colors!
*The Bite Beauty Amuse Bouche Lipsticks were provide to me by Influenster to try out. all opinions are 100% my own!

Tutorial: Date Night Glam Look With Neutrogena® #BestLovedBeauty
This post has been compensated by Collective Bias and Neutrogena®. All opinions are mine alone. #BestLovedBeauty #CollectiveBias
A beautiful make up look starts with great skin. I have oily to combination skin, but I have break out problems and the acne treatment (both topical and oral medication) makes my skin very dry. So choosing a facial cream that is hydrating without being greasy or oily and does not clog pores is critical for me. Enter Neutrogena® Hydro Boost! This gel cream is super moisturizing, has SPF 15, feels very light and it keeps my skin hydrated all day. I put it on my neck and face after cleansing my face and my skin feels very soft and smooth. I got mine from Target.
Just a dab of Neutrogena® Hydro Boost gel cream does the job. I pat it on my face and massage softly in circular motion. I wait for few minutes before I put on sunscreen and my Neutrogena® Acne Correct & Cover tinted moisturizer.
Step 1: After prepping my skin with Neutrogena® Hydro Boost Gel Cream and Neutrogena® Healthy Skin Primer, I start with the foundation. The Neutrogena® shine control liquid make up (color soft beige). It gives me medium coverage (you can double coat it for heavy coverage) and controls the shine and oil on my face.
I take a quarter size amount on the back of my hand, dab it in little dots all over my face and use my foundation brush to buff my face.
Step 2: To set the foundation, I use my Neutrogena Skin Clearing mineral pressed powder with my kabuki style powder brush.
Step 3: With an angled brush, I fill up my eyebrows with black shadow powder. I really don't need any specific brow product because I have decently thick brows and my eye shadow powder does the job to define the brows.
Step 4: For a winged eyeliner look, I start with thinly lining the upper eyelash with my Neutrogena® Nourishing Eyeliner. It comes with a sharpener so I can make the pencil tip pointed for a sharp wing. I also use the eyeliner for the lower lashline into he corner V on the outside of my eye.
Step 6: After the eyeliner, I use mascara for my lashes. For an extra touch of glam, I love to use fake eyelashes. You don't need to spend a lot of money for them, I picked up mine from Target for under $5!
If you want to use falsies, just follow the directions on the package. Usually the lashes come with the adhesive that sticks on to your natural lashline. If the false lashes are longer than the length of our lid, you an cut them to fir your eyes. Here, I simply used the adhesive and aligned the falsies with my lashline and pushed gently with my fingers.
Step 6: I am using a baked blush (mine is from Laura Geller Blush-n-Brighten), but you can use any blush suitable for your complexion. FYI, here is a quick tip for you - don't smile when you put the blush because when you smile, your cheekbones go up and you end up putting blush LOWER than you should, thus giving a 'droopy' look to your face as the attention now is not on your cheekbone, but lower on the cheeks. When you apply blush without smiling, the color goes on the right spot on the cheekbones, lifting the face up,
Step 7: Glide on your favorite red lipstick. For my complexion, I love the red color of MAC Ruby Woo. It is VERY matte though, so I use a lip conditioner or lip balm before applying it.
To remove my makeup, I blindly trust Neutrogena® make up remover wipes. If you have been a regular reader of my blog, you might be familiar with my adoration of these wipes. They remove waterproof eye make up, mascara, lipstick, foundation with a gentle sweep. I got these Neutrogena® make up remover cleansing towelettes from Target. These are fragrance -free and suitable for sensitive skin too. Neutrogena® make up remover wipes really are the one staple in my beauty products vanity that I can't live without!
You can see how one wipe took all the face paint off!
After cleaning up my face and washing it, I apply Neutrogena® Hydro Boost Gel Cream to keep the skin hydrated and moisturized. You can find this cream and Neutrogena® make up remover towelettes in the beauty section at Target.
Have you used Neutrogena® Hydro Boost gel cream and Neutrogena® fragrance -free make up remover wipes? If not, you an pick them up at Target and share your experience on Twitter and Instagram with hashtag #BestLovedBeauty
