Perfect make-up starts with glowing skin. No matter what age we are in, taking care of our skin is never too early. I have been guilty of ignoring skin care during my early youth, but now in my 30s, I am paying much needed attention to a sustainable, affordable skin care regimen. I am drinking more water to keep me hydrated, eating healthy and getting enough sleep. For the anti-aging skin care, one of my favorite brands is Olay.  Olay Regenerist micro-sculpting cream is one of my favorite creams to use every night- in fact I hooked my mom to it too!:-) It is light weight, non-greasy and you can see reduction in fine lines around your mouth and eyes pretty quickly.

Even though I have oily skin, my dermatologist told me that I still need to moisturize my skin. But instead of a heavy greasy cream or lotion, I need a light, non pore clogging moisturizer. That's why I love Olay Total Effects 7 in 1 moisturizer. It doesn't clog my pores, it is fragrance free so it works with sensitive and break-out prone skin.

As the temperature drops lower every day, and dry weather comes in, I like to switch to more moisturizing body wash instead of regular bar of soap. Olay ultra moisture body wash with shea butter is creamy, feels luxurious and leaves my skin soft and smooth after every shower. Olay products make sure I have my face and body skin moisturized and ready for Holiday glow!

Now for a glowing Holiday look tutorial! The first step in makeup is always moisturizing for a dewy glow.

 Step 1- Base/Foundation
I am using my cream foundation with a sponge. I love the full coverage I get with the sponge and I can control the amount of foundation.

Step 2- Powder
I am using a buffing brush to set the foundation with my pressed powder. Because I have a full coverage foundation, I just need a light layer of powder.

Step 3- Eyes
I will be going with bold red lips, so I am keeping eye makeup to a minimum. I love using false eyelashes for special occasions. You can get stick on lashes that are very inexpensive and can give you a glamorous look instantly! After I put on the lashes, I just line the upper lash line with a black eye shadow with my angled brush. I just need a thin line, not going on the lid. Once the 'eye liner' part is done, I use the shadow brush to put a light layer of brown shadow on the eye socket - again not going on the lid. I have noticed, this keeps the eye makeup looking natural (to go well with red lips) but still provides definition to the eyes.

Step 4- Contouring
I am not a big fan of heavy photo-shoot style contouring that is pretty popular on instagram tutorial these days. It can look little paint-like and if you are not an expert, it actually looks clownish. But it doesn't mean you can't give a definition to the parts of your face. I personally feel I could use light contouring on my nose. So I use the powder (even from my eye-shadow palette) that is 1-2 shades darker than my skin. I use my shadow brush to line the area on both sides of  bridge of my nose down to the tip. Then with a buffing/blending brush, I blend it so it just creates a light shadow to give more definition to my nose.

Step 5- Blush/Highlighter
I am using a blush with built in highlighter. Highlighter attracts light and draws attention to the area it is applied to. To make my face look slim, I use the highlighter blush on the apple of cheek going up to the ear. BTW, don't use the blush while smiling, as you may end up putting it LOWER than the actual cheek bone position, making your face look droopy! I put the blush in a C shape, from the cheekbone to the middle of my ear, and just a buff at the chin and forehead.

Step 6- Lips
I am using a lip conditioner with SPF to keep my lips smooth and soft. My red lipstick glides over very nicely after that.

 Step 7- Hair
One of the easiest hair styles for the Holidays is loose curls or waves. I simply use my 1.5 inch hair curling iron to curl the ends of my hair.Holiday Makeup Tutorial, #HolidayGlow #CollectiveBias

Now I just need to put on the bling and my Holiday look is complete.
