Mürren, Switzerland And Review Of Hotel Eiger {Video}

Crisp, clean mountain air, majestic, snow covered alps peaks, car-free quiet streets, vibrant wildflowers on the side of the roads and a very welcoming small community - that is Mürren for you! A small village with the population of just 450, it is a place that is big in every other way. We chose this heavenly quaint village for our Swiss vacation for its location (the amazing views of the three famous mountains: Eiger, Mönch, and Jungfrau) and the beautiful mountain trails, some easy enough to hike even with kids. Mürren is easily accessible From Zurich by taking couple of trains (Bahn) and a cable car that shows the beautiful Lauterbrunnen valley while going up.
Our stay was made truly unforgettable by the impeccable hospitality of Hotel Eiger. We loved staying in their famous 'James Bond Suite' with cool decor, sleek furniture and the Bond theme music for a door bell! It was one of the coolest hotel rooms I have ever stayed in!

The James Bond Suite is perfect for a family too as it has two bathrooms and a spacious living area where the couch can be converted into a bed.

The fun part of this bathroom is the mesh curtain along this bathroom area (you can't see that in the picture) It really creates the 'James Bond' ambiance - I felt like a femme fatale plotting her next move in the tub! LOL!

Hotel Eiger offers breathtaking views of the Alps and after a long day of hike and sight seeing, one can relax at the terrace overlooking the mountains. You literally are in the mountains here! The video below was taken from the balcony of our suite.

Hotel Eiger provides world class hospitality but with the personal touch of a family owned business - because it is a family owned hotel! Established in 1892, Hotel Eiger is now maintained by the fourth generation. Owners Susanna and Adrian Stähli are absolutely fabulous hosts and the staff is really friendly and kind. They have a great breakfast buffet and their restaurant offers great Swiss cuisine along with luscious desserts. Really, I have never eaten better ice-cream in my life!
I highly recommend Hotel Eiger if you ever find yourself in Mürren!

I may have come back to New York, but I left a piece of my heart in Mürren and I can't wait to go back there again!
