Girls With Glasses Can Get A Husband! PS. I Tie My Own Cravat!

Move over Anne Hathaway, I am here with my nerdy glasses!! First time on the blog, my glasses make an appearance. I usually wear contacts, but for today's post, I kept them on (they actually go well with this workplace - appropriate outfit!) I have been wearing glasses since middle school, but growing up I was not very confident and comfortable with them. I don't know if I am over generalizing, but in India in the 90s, glasses on girls were not the hottest thing! I was told in whispered tones and sometimes directly too, that girls with glasses have hard time finding husband! (Yes, Jane Austen still is very very relatable to women in Indian society, which thankfully is changing for the better!) Lucky for me, my family was not one of those people who believed it and I was always told I look great!!;-)
And yes, I successfully 'snagged' a great husband too! LOL!
Today's outfit is inspired by Katharine Hepburn, with high waist trousers, man-shirt and a silk scarf. I love to 'wear' scarves as ties (or cravat as I read in those Jane Austen novels!)

Pants - New York and Co.
Scarf - From a weavers co-operative society in India
Bag - Ann Taylor

  1. I love your glasses :) I wear specs too and I can totally relate to not feeling super confidant in them at times.

  2. Lovely outfit ! And the glasses look great on you :) I've also been wearing glasses since a young age and started wearing contacts at 16. I try to wear my glasses for a whole day, but it tends to render me uncoordinated, my hair gets caught in them and all sorts of other clumsy troubles lol
    Anyways. Glasses + Cravat = fantastic !!!

  5. I've been wearing glasses since class 3 and I totally get what you're saying about the 'feeling hot' part. However, now I think I look much better with my glasses on!! I really liked the way you styled your scarf in this outfit!! Very business-chic!!

  6. Katherine Hepburn is my style icon. Throughout my youth in college and University, I used to dress like that. Although we used to have a dress code, I wore these outfit after college/ University hours.
I started wearing glasses one year before I got married and I still wear glasses. I don't wear contacts. But I can do without them in parties, functions, etc...because my eyesight is not that bad. But glasses are a must for me while reading books, watching movies or identify someone from a distance :-)
    Loved your post !
    Take care,

editors or if you have to manually code with HTML. I'm starting a blog soon but have no coding experience so I wanted to get guidance from someone with experience. Any help would be enormously appreciated!
