Mid-Week Colorblock Shoe Cravings

I have a question for you all today. How do you wear heels? Do you wear them only on occasions? Carry a pair of flip-flops/flats with you to change? Don't wear heels at all? Put the band-aid on the pinkie/back of the heel? (you know what I am taking about!!) Only wear platforms? I am asking you because I feel I can't be in the high heels for whole day, and when I see women sashay through the sidewalks in sky high stilettos, I always wonder - is she cursing on the inside with every step?? I love the high heels as much as the next girl, and own my fair share of elevated beauties, but I see people in 5 inches heels and ask myself- is she tougher than me? I guess the better person inside me goes MIA at that time!! {I still lust after the high heels nonetheless!}

Which pair would satisfy your craving??

  1. These are cute. I really like #3 & #4. I usually wear high heels on special occasion and to work. I wear boots with about an inch or two daily though.

    1. I would like to add: I don't wear anything beyond 2 inches. I wear heels almost always when I go out , it is not only reserved for occasions . I also wear flats sometimes, only sometimes and it has to be ballerina flats. I believe that with heels on, our walk becomes more graceful- well, this is my personal observation !
Walking in heels is not hard at all, we just need to practice walking in them - after sometime, it becomes effortless !

  3. That's some serious shoe-candy!

I wear heels everyday, and I'm on my feet all day. I don't wear heels as high as these but I find them more comfortable than flats. It takes about a month to get used to it, and yes it's a painful process to start with but standing all day in flats hurts more in my mind.

  4. Wow, I need those Ruthie Davis shoes, but I won't even bother to check the price. I have a pair of platform lilac suede Fluevog shoes, the ones Madonna wore, so I'm told, very high, and only for fine weather. They are called the Munsters (you know they are a REAL shoe when they have their own name!)I always take some flats with me when I go out in them, and after romping all over the city am happy to slip on my flats and glide home as though I've completed an important mission. But these are the only heels that I need backup flats for. I DO wear pre-emptive bandaids as well. Fun post.

  6. Hi dear! I was the woman who wore them all day (even while grocery shopping)! Yikes! I tried to break my shoes in before wearing them all day long though, but I did grin and bear them especially after walking more than 2 hours straight in them. But, I believe in beauty is pain! xx

  9. Jyoti, my situation is just like yours. As much as I drool over these beauties, that much I seem to favor the comfort over the looks of the heel. Also considering the amount of time I spend outdoors during the weekends, I would die if I wear heels for that long a time. So I mostly wear flats. Also my legs hurt the moment I wear the heels, so heels for me are a complete occasional affair.
Also I believe that heels do more justice to an outfit then flats but then health and comfort comes first :)

  11. I love wearing high heels.....and they hurt. Tried breaking them in but still they hurt, tried wearing stockings but they hurt. So I always remember an add in that Stacy London says "We love shoes and love hurts!"

    * That add is about Dr. Scholls soles for high heels did you ever try them?

  12. I really like #2 !
I wear heels on occassions & usually I wear them the entire night ! But if I know that its going to be an uneven ground or I might be uncomfortable dancing in heels, I do carry a flat pair & change after the main part of the function !

  17. Babe I wear heels everyday all day and No I am not cursing on the inside - in fact the right heel can be more comfortable for a day at work than flats (which make my feet ache after too much walking)

There are three things I swear by for 24/7 heels:
    1. Don't buy cheap ones. These can be pretty and inexpensive, but not to be worn all day
    2. Buy those with a platform below the front to protect your foot from blisters
    3. Make sure the arch in your sole and the arch in the shoe fit together. If not, forget it

And then of course, give yourself some time to break them in!!

  21. Nice picks. My favourites are 1, 3 and 4.
I only really wear high heels on nights out but sometimes towards the end of the night I want to chop my feet off.
Good luck in the Refinery 29 contest!

  22. Heels are my staple shoes, just don't step out without them unless I am working out.

The highest I have is 5 inches (they're platform) and I can wear them for hours. I think if you invest in good shoes, the high heels don't hurt so much. For heels I only prefer good brands.

I am loving Olsen Haus no. 3; and the good thing about them is they're leather-free!!!!

    Good luck for your contest
