Lookbook : Seafoam Summer

Where the river bends and water ripples gently, the cool breeze flows through the weeping willows, the tall grass undulates lazily, the sun rays plays hide and seek with snowy-white fat, fluffy clouds (which have no intention of raining), there I will be - soaking the sheer joy and bliss of a summer day, scripting my summer story!

Lookbook : Summer Blues

Ikat print maxi, How to style a maxi dress, Summer Outfit ideas
Schools are closed, breakfasts are leisurely, dinners are late, splashes in the pools are to the hearts' content, and chilled watermelons are default desserts - summer is in full swing in my household. For my summer style, a maxi dress is my staple. This ikat print one is an old favorite, a real wardrobe workhorse for me. The bold pattern and cooling colors make it a perfect choice for a summer day or night.

Things To Do In NYC : Date Night At Madame Tussaud's

This shop has been compensated by Collective Bias, Inc. and its advertiser. All opinions are my own.

They say New York City is the perfect place date nights. Whatever your interests are, this City has got you covered! Whether it is dinner and a movie, or a show, or a picnic in the park, you can always count on NYC for a good time. Since moving to the area, for past three years, I have had the pleasure to sample the wonderful things New York has to offer. One thing missing from my NYC experience was Madame Tussaud's wax museum. I assumed (so wrongly!) that it's a place to visit with a big group of friends/family, and somehow my plan to visit Madame Tussaud's kept getting postponed. But last week, hubby and I decided to have our date night right at the heart of the City - at Madame Tussaud's! I can't tell you how much fun this place is - by the time we were done seeing all the figures inside the museum, we were grinning from ear to ear and then we laughed some more on our way back home, looking at all the pictures we took!

I gave some tips on 'how to have a happy marriage' to Mr Clooney!
The wax figures are so realistic in person and once you know the effort behind the process, you really appreciate the art and science behind it. Well, that and all the fun photo ops you get as you are allowed to get really close to them!

Don't worry, it was harmless fun and Angie didn't even see anything!!;-)

Hubby dear immediately got back to me for that stolen kiss! LOL!

Our date night at Madame Tussaud's was an instant hit. The super accessible location of the museum (right near to Times Square) made it possible for my husband to meet me there right after work, saving him a trip back home!
Madame Tussaud's has more than 200 wax figures in its New York location. From singers to actors to sports icons and politicians and royalty, Madame Tussaud's has something for everyone. I am actually planning to bring Mili soon to show her the wax figures of our past Presidents, sports stars and world leaders! She can tread the yellow brick road with Dorothy, ride the bike with E.T., and even sign the constitution with Benjamin Franklin! How much fun!!

For all you fans of Bollywood out there, there are wax figures of the biggest Indian film stars in Madame Tussaud's. Seeing Shahrukh Khan (the quintessential romance hero of modern Indian cinema) and Amitabh Bachchan ( possibly one of the biggest stars in the world, popularity-wise!) were alone worth the ticket money!:-) My husband made sure to take a picture with the signature smirk/smile of Mr Khan on his face to once again remind me why I love him so much!!

..and the fun continues with some of the biggest celebrities (or their wax figures!) in the world.

Oh, you know Leo! Hanging out with a new supermodel every month!!
There were plenty of cheeky moments, fun and flirty moments and gasps and laughter during our date at Madame Tussaud's! I can't wait to visit again soon!

Some facts worth remembering before your visit -
1 - If you book your tickets online, you can save 20%. The tickets are valid upto a year from the date of purchase.
2 - Madame Tussaud's is one of the biggest attractions in NYC. So it is busy with tourists and locals alike. Make sure to wear comfortable clothes and shoes in case you need to wait to get in.
3 - You need at least an hour and a half to see and enjoy the museum. Make sure you have enough time for your visit.
4 - No outside food is allowed inside, but you can buy it from the museum's beverage area.
5 - If you are visiting from out of town and have luggage with you, make sure to leave it in your hotel or in the car. For security reasons, luggage is not allowed inside. For most other items, there are lockers available.
6 - There are wheelchairs available free of charge, but due to limited numbers, it is advised that you call in advance. You can take strollers inside.
So, plan your visit to Madame Tussaud's this Summer and make sure to share your fun filled photos on instagram with hashtag #MTSelfie!

Summer Pedicure at Home With Emjoi Micro-Pedi Nano

Emjoi® Micro-Pedi Nano Review, How to do pedicure at home, Quick pedicure tips
We have been covering up our feet all winter due to cold and snow, but if you are still hiding them because of calluses, bumps or rough skin, read on!!
Summer season is the time to flaunt our pedicure in beautiful, sexy sandals, cute flip flops and enjoy dipping the red-nailed toes in the sparkling water under the sun. But it is no fun to do these things when you have rough, patchy skin on your feet, cracked dry heels and calluses (which sometimes we all get because of our evil shoes..LOL!) Going to expensive spas for pedicure regularly may not be feasible, so what's the solution?
Well, Emjoi seem to understand the need for easy, at-home pedicures for women in hurry. They are well known and respected for their line of micro pedi tools and epilators. Now they have come up with a even niftier tool for smooth, soft feet we all can achieve in just a few minutes! I took this battery operated callus remover to the task to deal with a rough patch of skin on my heels and it worked brilliantly! I could feel the difference with just one use! Its unique roller with micro mineral particles pulverizes dead skin in just a few seconds! It is actually safer and more effective than metal scrapers, which use blades to cut the skin. The rollers can be replaced and all micro-pedi refill rollers are compatible with all micro-pedi models. See the Emjoi micro-pedi nano in action below!

Emjoi micro-pedi nano is portable so you can get smooth, baby soft feet anywhere you go with minimum effort!

My Emjoi micro-pedi routine in three steps -
1 - Roll the Emjoi micro-pedi nano on my heels, feet and all over my pinky toes (where I tend to get rough skin). Scrub away the dead and dry skin.
2 - Use a refreshing foot scrub with lukewarm water to clean up my feet
3 - Slather my favorite foot cream or body butter on my feet and heels.
Voilà! The summer ready, smooth and soft feet are ready for the strappy sandals!

I demand #AdFreeSearch For My Kids, Do You?

#adfreesearch, #bingrewards
Eleanor Roosevelt once said “I think, at a child's birth, if a mother could ask a fairy godmother to endow it with the most useful gift, that gift would be curiosity.” As a mother of a soon-to-be 2nd grader who 'wants to know everything about everything', I couldn't agree more! I wholeheartedly believe that a curious mind can imagine and achieve seemingly impossible things. But in today's world, where the thirst of curiosity is largely quenched by search engines and interactive media, creating a kid-friendly space for curious minds is often a challenge. I know I am there with Mili AT ALL TIMES when she is on the computer; but what about the situations when she is in school? Who can we trust when a parent or guardian is not there to keep a hawk eye on search engines? Well, seems like the people at Bing pondered over the same question! And the answer is Bing in the Classroom. By using Bing to search for anything online, anyone can earn Bing Rewards that can be donated to bring technology to schools and support ad-free searches in classrooms. Bing in the classroom is focused on helping kids use technology, satisfy their curiosity and provide ad-free, safe, private search in schools. Additionally, Bing community members can use their rewards points to earn tablets for their schools. The video below explains why all parents need to know about this amazing program!
In schools, when students use search engines other than Bing, they are shown ads that can distract from their studies. Bing in the classroom helps to get -
 All advertising removed
Strict filters for adult content
Enhanced privacy protection
Safe and ad-free search in schools via Bing will not only help teachers and students, but also help parents breathe easy that their kids will not be distracted by ads or inappropriate content while they are online in school.
#adfreesearch, #bingrewards
As a Bing Rewards member, I am donating my rewards points to Mili's school to bring Bing in the classroom program to her classroom. You can use sign up for Bing rewards to show support for ad free search for your school.
Internet safety is a big issue for parents of young children and if you too are as passionate about ad-free search engines in schools as I am, please join the conversation on social media with hashtag #adfreesearch and #bingrewards
